How to make a Terrarium

I have always been fascinated by terraria. They are mini eco-systems inside a jar. If they are covered, they can last months without any water. You can also mini-scape, which makes it look even more like a micro-world. This is how to make one:

You will need:

  • ¬†Glass Container
  • Pebbles
  • Dried Sheet Moss or Coir
  • Plants
1. Fill the bottom of the jar with the pebbles.

3. Fill the bottom with enough soil for your plants. Make sure you leave enough space for the roots and the plant itself.

4. Now it is time for the plants!

Some people sprinkle a little charcoal in their terrarium – this keeps the humidity level balanced.

Courgettes

Featured imageIt is the time of year to plant courgettes, those delicious vegetables that can be cooked into so many scrumptious recipes. Both the flower and the vegetable can be eaten, so when you plant them, you’re hitting two birds with one stone! But there is one thing to be careful of: like pumpkins, they take up a lot of room!
